Week 1 Thursday 8th sep.
short film: money money money.
todays goal was to create a short story that consisded of a varity of diffrent shots. like close ups, medium shots, long shots and curved shots to show off this short story as best we could. when we we desided on the short story of a man finding a ten pound note on the ground. we thought of where the best location would be and we thought it best place would be the park.we chose it becase it is probably the most likely place to find droped or missing money. we shot lots of diffrent types of shots from all sorts of angles to make sure that we could all tell the same story with out them all looking exactly the same in the individual edits. when filming all the shots on the list we were given, we disided to get a little creative with our shots and do our own ideas that we made up on the spot. we also made the same film with diffrent people as the main character so that we could all get a go behind the camera.

Week 1 Friday 9th sep.
what are foley sound effects.
Foley sounds are sounds created after something has been filmed. they fill in the gaps left by the origenal film shoot that could not be captured on the day. they also help to enhance the footage for example, swords being pull from sheaths, hoerses feet hiting the ground as they run chainmail shakeing, adding sounds that might not normaly show up but help to inmers you in what ever world the film maker has created.
Failing to capture foley sound effects.
Our goal was to get foley sound effects for our premade movie. We desided to go back to the location of where we shot the film, so that we would get the best sound possible, sound that would match our film perfectly.
But we made the mistake of filming the film outside, this ment that the sound would not work. The wether from the day we filmed would not be the same as when we recorded the sound. We ran into problems like the wind be considerable stronger than when we filmed. this both made the sound incohirant with the film. but also the wind was so strong that we could not even he what we had recorded.
lesson to be learnt:

try filming inside if you plan to do foley sound recording at a later date or at least wait for a day simmiler to the one you filmed on.

foley can be used to enhance small things in a scene like foot steps, breathing and wind in the trees. it all adds up to make a more atmospheric feel to a film.

week 2 thursday 15 sep.
basic camera skills:​
iso: how sensitive the lens is to light, the higher the iso the lighter it is. how you acess the iso is by goinging to manual mode then pressing and holding the iso button ontop of the camera and then useing the arrow buttons to incress or decress the iso.
apreture: simply put, aperture is a hole within a lens, through which light travels into the camera body. the larger the aperture the more light that is let in.
shutter speed: it is the legth of time a camera shutter is open to expose light into the camera sensor. if the shutter speed is fast, it can help to freeze action. slow the shutter speed
white balance: white balance in digital photography means adjusting colors so that the image looks more natural. there is a huge diffrence in color temperature between bright sunlight and indoor tungsten light.
week 2 Friday 16 sep.
keyframeing.
keyframeing is when you basicly stop animate something in shot. as you can see the line with the small dimonds is the line that what ever you are keyframing will follow. this is diffrent from motion tracking as that locks onto something in shot and basiclly helps to make something you make to stay stuck to what ever object you attached it to. where as key framing allows you to make what ever you want move how ever you want.
week 2 Friday 16 sep.
green screen / keyer
green screening or the keyer tool is used to make every bit of green in the shot see through so that you can add things that might or could not be added in camera. something i found a problem with, was that some of the background was green aswell as the balloon
