Trailer breakdown
Mad Max: fury road
Genre: action, survival
USP (unique selling point): the practical action set pieces. films in the modern day have a habit of using a heavy amount of cgi so it might feel refreshing to audiences to see something that reals heavy of practical stunts and effects.
The story seems to be put to one side to make room for all the action heavy shots, because we only get a few lines of dialogue witch gives us the setting and an idea of what the story is but both seem to just serve the action in the trailer.
The style of the trailer has very vibrant colours and the choice to speed up the video ever so slitty to make us feel very jumpy and frantic just like max in the trailer.
The music starts out as a bit of a background filler to max's narration. but after he finishes the music starts with some low chelo to enthuses the dark tone of this speech the main villain is giving then as it comes to an end the music uses this high pitch noise to build up over some small action shots, then the music drops like holders as tones of action hits the screen and comes in and out between soft action and hardcore action music through out the trailer but slows down as max finishes his narration then go right back into it building up again until the titles where we get more low sounding chelo as the tittles flash on screen.
The editing starts out very fast paced with very quick cuts, as it shows how frantic and unstable Max i. then it roles into a section filled with long shots as we get some main story points but after we pass that section we jump strait into just shots of action and more action and more action cut to the sound of the music witch gives it a nice coherence and flow so it dose not feel like the music and video are two separate things, they work in tandem to create something better then ether one on there own.
Trailer breakdown
about time
Genre: romantic, comedy and fantasy
USP: the aspect of time travel in a love story
The story buy this trailer seems to be telling i one about a man trying to find love with this extraordinary tool to help him along the way and how it both helps him and cause more problems then he can see.
The style shot wise is not bad or great its fine but still nothing crazy. the music choice's work to serve the trailer when it needs to be sad and when it needs to be cheery. but over all it seems more like the shots work to make you focus on the characters and not any external factors.
The music starts out buy feeling like it is not for the trailer but is part of the film. as it fits the party scene we see so well that it sounds like it is just meant to be there. as the scene goes the music builds and as the main character misses a kiss, the music stops abruptly mirroring what is happening on screen, which is build up being waisted. then the music just seems to serve the purpose of filling a gap in the background and not much more than that.
The editing is great it real works to enhance the time travel part of the trailer by using sample voices from other scenes in the film to create a scene that isn't even in the final movie, this is great because it subs expectations so that the final movie can have more surprises.
Trailer breakdown
suicide squad
genre: action, adventure and superhero
USP: the Joker
the story from the trailer seems to be the government gathers super villains and try to put them to use. so they force them to fight something so the government does not need to risk the lives of good guys.
the style seems very colourful and a light hearted as it throws a few jokes at us. it also seems crazy at times
witch fits the style of its characters.
the music is easy the best part about this trailer as it fits every clip that is being shown. it starts out with the sound sing about how he is confused if this is real life mirroring how the prisoners feel that this trap can't be real then barrels into the next verse of the song with conveys again how the prisoners feel as all the guards take them out of there cells. "to late, my time has come" the prisoners think there going to die then we get the "we will not let you go" as the villains are forced into doing something they don't want to do and the guards still art letting them go.
the editing is strange because i would normally say the music serves the shots but in this case the shots serve the music as the music and shots work so well together that i can't rely say. the shots are slow and long at the beginning and quick and jumpy near the end.
Planning:
my trailer
the idea for my trailer is to have a boy on his own in a house doing everyday things and have the tone feel very innocent and just normal. but as it goes on we see more and more dark things to then revel the horrible situation that this person is trying to hide from with normal everyday things.
so the character is a boy in an apocalypse with he is trying his best to pretend is not happening, this to me feels very interesting as we see how when he is pretending everything is normal, when normal pretty much dead drives him a little insane. this idea was inspired by both 10 clover field lane and i am legend these two films deal with isolation and what that does to a person and how there is a need to keep your self sane by doing normal everyday things, but in actually fact it just creates this fake world around you and you know it but don't want to believe it creating this feeling of unstableness, that is what i want my trailer to portray.

Film Synopsis - Hidden
Hidden will be about a boy and his dog trying to create a normal atmosphere in their home, while at the same time being deathly afraid of what lurks outside their home. this begins to take a tole on the boys mind and sends him into a strange state of panic where he is completely sane in the day time, doing normal and everyday things but. he falls into this state of paranoia at night, out of fear of what ever is outside.
