Trailer Evaluation:
what i wanted to create was a feeling of normality and security. but for those feelings to to then be slowly replaced with fear, paranoia and sadness. the story that i tried to portray was one of a boy and his dog trying to create a normal atmosphere to try and distract them selfs from what ever is outside there home.
i think what works well in this beginning of the trailer with its very normal and pedestrian feel, it almost feels boaring witch is good as this boy is doing boring things for an audience to watch is exactly what i wanted to express with these opening shots, just normality. the shots i use i think try to add a little more energy into the shots like my slider shot witch i used to try and make the shot more appealing to watch instead of a still shot that adds more boaring to and already boring shot, so that was all about making what was on screen just a little easier to watch. also i tried to sync the music with what was happening on screen so cutting shots to much the beat of the music witch i think helps the music and clips to feel like one thing and not two.
what else i think also works is the transition from normaly to scary it starts with small things like the boy looking at a picture and looking sad, that lets the audience know that he misses them maybe because there dead or he just does to know. then we go into him closing the curtains witch tells us he is hiding from something we don't know what. then we get his full paranoia as his hand shakes uncontrollably and he then slams his hand against the table this tells us he is terrified and it is taking its tole on him.
